RSS plumbing, user centering

RSS is plumbing. With user centering.

Alternative info flow, from sources to you, as you wish them to be delivered, in the file selections, format, and frequency of your choice.

You can use syndication feeds to keep tabs on your competitors, your brand, your blog. For market surveillance. Buzz monitoring.

In web surfing and blog cruising, you as human move out via machines.

In RSS/Atom, machines move info to you via your commands.

Blogs evolved from web sites.

Now RSS evolves from web surfing, offering less suffering by providing the Pre-Selected Web. The portal concept for webs was to be the gateway to suggested channels, a Pre-Surfed Web. Today, we are uniting both, for the Pre-Surfed Web (blogrolls, blog links in posts, link logging) blends with the Pre-Selected Web (syndication/email update subscriptions)...all centered on the user's browser, desktop, or other personal computing tools.
