introduction to Voice over Internet Protocol

VoIP is a great new way to communicate.

If you're a blogger, you're a communications specialist. You may use email, discussion lists, online forums, bulletin boards, chat, ICQ, AOL Messenger, text messaging, podcasting, audio blogging, video blogging (vlogs), psychogeographic assistive tech, glogs, and web hybrids.

If you like to blog, if you like to communicate, you'll love VoIP.

It's free. It's easy to download and install. It works. It is another form of Electro Telepathic Planet, the future is already behind us, as well as before us.

I use Skype. It's the service that CNET and others recommend. CNET also recommends GloPhone and BuddyTalk.

i used something like that about six or seven years ago. the only thing was that it was like a walkie talkie... you almost had to say "over" so the other person would know you were done talking... because both people could not hear eachother if both talked at once. but it was free.

now, i don't have a mic.

The Skype web site needs a better presentation, like Blogger's 1-2-3 steps to blogging.

I got two calls yesterday, but could not activate anything. I had my mic plugged in and on.

Funny little massive usability detail.
