In my Deep Blog Research, which I rarely share with the public, I have conducted some pretty wild experiments.
I have decided to convert my "electrica" WordPress blog into a new Deep Blog Research site. It will be a site of experimentation and public reports. Web analytics, user observations tests, email surveys, all manner of investigation and nosiness will abound.
One of the recent ideas we had was to investigate what would happen if a blogger blogged all day long on the web events of the day, brief reports, a sentence or a short paragraph, every half hour or so, a quick summary of web explorations, problems, error messages, bad design, smart writing, and other observations, anecdotes, as succint and profound as an Alertbox.
NOT trivial matters of lunch or weather, but a full day of web surfing.
Usability problems encountered. Cool designs. Interesting posts, but just a sentence or so quoted, then a sentence or two of commentary by the blogger.
How many post-bursts could he do? How many thought-spurts until he conked out?
A fast, filmic, surreal day of posting about blogs, posting, reading blogs, comment posting.
If you would be interested in knowing more about, or possibly volunteering for, Deep Blog Research, please post a comment, or email me.
